The 1794-IM8 is a 240 Volt AC input module by , working on a rack-based configuration of modules. This unit belongs to the Flex I/O system and consists of three main parts: a terminal unit, an adapter, and an I/O module. It has dedicated wiring labels to make connections to the main terminal and supports a total of 8 inputs, which support an open style enclosure. A 1794-TBN part will function as the main terminal base, being fed by an input current of 2.6 mA.This part has 8 key switch positions in total with an additional 2 signal ports for its wiring category.
Its maximum voltage upon startup is 10A; the module must receive an appropriate amount of power at all times. Fuses should be installed to avoid damage to the device. The flex bus should be properly inserted as the module may not work until it is fully connected. All the inputs are individually insulated and backplane type tested for individual channels.
