The 1784-KTCS card is approved by the CE and FM standards. Before the card is installed in a computer, the physical addresses for the ROM I/O expansion area of system memory and processor I/O map should be configured. Four 1784-KTCS cards can be installed in a computer as long as each card has a unique I/O space and base memory address. 

The 1784-KTCS card uses CMOS technology and it is therefore sensitive to ESD. To guard against ESD damage, the installers should take the following precautions: cards that are not in use should be stored in anti-static containers, the interface connector pins and backplane connector should not be touched, and a grounded object should be touched prior to handling the card.
