The 1771-ACNR15 module has a communication rate of 5Mbps. It requires a ControlNet PLC-5 controller and it must be installed in a remote ControlNet chassis. It needs a backplane current of 1A at 5V DC. It has a power dissipation of 5W and thermal dissipation of 17.06 BTU/hr. It needs to be installed in the leftmost slot of the I/O chassis. Keying bands prevent the wrong module from being inserted in the slot. Keying bands for ControlNet adapter modules are between 54 and 56 on the upper connector and between 16 and 18 on the lower connector. For wiring, use a Quad shield RG-6 coaxial cable.
The 1771-ACNR15 module has two standard BNC connectors for cable connection to the module. Two switch assemblies i.e., the ten’s switch and the one’s switch, need to be set to configure the adapter module to the network address ranging from 01 to 99. For troubleshooting and diagnostics, it has an OK indicator, status indicator, and an alphanumeric display on the front of the adapter module.
