The 1756-PB75R is a ControlLogix Redundant power supply. This power supply is specifically used to lower the risk of system downtime due to power supply error as this power supply unit when paired to a redundant partner forms a hot-standby assembly wherein one unit acts as stand-by and one unit acts as active power source.
The 1756-PB75R uses the 1756-CPR2 cable to connect the redundant power supply to the 1756-PSCA2 chassis adapter. If you connect or disconnect the 1756-CPR2 cable when the backplane’s power source is on, an electrical arc may occur. This can cause an explosion in a hazardous location. Repeated electrical retractors cause excessive wear on the contacts on the module and on its mating connector.
